Light Modulation™ LLLT

Low-Level Light Therapy

What does it treat?

It treats Dry Eye Syndrome which has many symptoms.

• Dry eyes
• Excessive eye watering

• Burning or itching
• Needing to use eyedrops frequently
• Gritty eyes
• Sticky or crusty lids

This treatment helps with the many symptoms of dry eye. The treatment helps open and stimulate the Meibomian glands in the eyelids and reduce inflammation at the cellular level which allows glands to release the oils needed for a healthy tear film on the surface of the eye. These oils form the outer layer of the tears, helping to reduce tear evaporation and improve tear film stability, which in turn significantly improves dry eye symptom after four treatments. Treatment studies have shown 85% to 90% success in improving these symptoms.

What is it?

LM™ Low-level Light Therapy is a unique, light-based photobiomodulation technology. We developed and patented for medical use the technology originally employed by NASA to treat wounds of astronauts in space.

LM™ LLLT has nothing to do with Red Light Therapy (RLT), which only acts on the surface of the dermis—instead, LM™ LLLT works at biological level, generating endogenous heat through powerful LEDs stimulating ATP production in cells.

Unique benefits of LM™ LLLT technology:

① Fast

② Non-invasive

③ Easy & safe

④ Grants immediate relief

• You will sit in a reclining chair, and a gentle non-laser LED light mask is placed over your face for 15 to 30 minutes with your eyes closed

  • Treatment 1: 20 minutes with the blue light mask + 10 minutes with the red-light mask

  • Treatment 2: 15 minutes with red-light mask

  • Treatment 3: 15 minutes with red-light mask

  • Treatment 4: 20 minutes with blue light mask + 10 minutes with red-light mask.

After the Treatment

• Colours in your vision will be temporarily distorted during treatment and for a few minutes after treatment.

• Skin around your eyes and on cheeks may look slightly red or flushed and will typically fade in an hour.

• It is recommended not to undergo any aesthetic medical procedures, such as Botox, fillers, or chemical peels, on the treated areas (and, in general, on the entire face) for the duration of the treatment cycle.

• After the treatment, you may be sensitive to the sun for 24 to 48 hours. Application of sunscreen is optional.

• Continue your normal dry eye treatment at home (eye drops, eyelid cleansing and/or warm compresses) for the duration of the treatments.

• Relief of dry eye can be anywhere from immediate to after 4 weeks. Benefits occur progressively.

• Normal activity can be resumed immediately after treatment.

• Hydrate! Ensure you drink ample water after treatment.
